Bluegrass at the Lake Brittany Saylor Memorial
Bluegrass at the Lake (BATL) started in 2018 as a small family run music festival that drew approximately
250 attendees to raise money for organizations that were meaningful to Chip & Carolyn’s daughter,
Brittany, who was born with Spinal Muscular Atrophy Type II in 1989 and passed on November 6, 2018. In
2019 Bluegrass at the Lake became a not-for-profit organization that developed a corporate sponsorship
program to continue to honor Brittany by changing the name of the festival to the “Brittany Saylor
Bluegrass at the Lake Memorial Music Festival.” Our festival is held at the South Wood County Lake
Wazeecha’s Red Sands Beach area the weekend of the 2nd Saturday in June in Wisconsin Rapids.
Our Mission Statement is: Bluegrass at the Lake is creating a legacy of giving while building social
relationships through music and events in Central Wisconsin.
