Donald and Kathleen Wisinski

The Donald and Kathleen Wisinski Scholarship Fund was created to honor the enduring legacy of a couple who spent their lives supporting family and community. Married for 60 years, Don and Kathy shared a strong foundation built on love and hard work. Their life together is a testament to dedication, resilience, and a commitment to uplifting others.
Don Wisinski worked as a drywall installer, taking pride in a career that highlighted the importance of technical skills and craftsmanship. Kathy, a homemaker and childcare provider, devoted herself to raising their family and caring for their grandchildren. She later worked for 18 years at a local bank, demonstrating her strong work ethic and dedication to her community. Together, Don and Kathy raised three sons and were blessed with eight grandchildren, three step-grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, and six step-great-grandchildren. Throughout their lives, they found joy in the success of their family members and took pride in the accomplishments of those who pursued careers related to technical college programs.
Kathy’s passing on September 24, 2024, left a profound impact on her family and all who knew her. She will be remembered as a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, as well as a devoted member of the community, singing with the Choraliers for polka masses and spreading kindness to all she met. Even in moments of pain and struggle, the Wisinskis found comfort in their faith and the blessings they had received, always finding ways to support others, particularly those facing challenges of their own.
The Wisinskis have a special place in their hearts for people with disabilities, having two great grandchildren with special needs. The Donald and Kathleen Wisinski Scholarship Fund reflects their belief that everyone, regardless of background or ability, deserves the opportunity to further their education and achieve their dreams.
Through this scholarship, the Wisinskis aim to support students with disabilities, as well as those from diverse backgrounds, in pursuing higher education. The fund is intended to provide financial assistance to students seeking to earn a college degree. By helping remove financial barriers, the Wisinski Scholarship Fund opens doors to opportunities that might have otherwise been out of reach, ensuring that Kathy and Don’s legacy of love, support, and commitment to education lives on.
