In honor of 1969 Civil Engineering graduate, Patrick Worden, this endowment was established by family in 2007 to provide financial assistance to two (2) Mid-State Technical College students demonstrating a strong motivation to create a better life for their family and carrying a minimum of 9 credits and enrolled in an Associate’s Degree or Technical Diploma. “I was very happy to learn that I was selected as a recipient of the Patrick L. Worden Memorial Scholarship. I am writing to thank you for your generous financial support towards my continuing education. I decided to pursue a degree in nursing to improve my community and to provide a better life for my family. I have been working full time as a Certified Nursing Assistant the past few years, but I had to reduce hours to remain successful in school. My husband has been a huge help, but it has been tough at times. I recently passed my nursing exam to be a licensed Practical Nurse, and I am incredibly grateful to advance my career and to play a bigger role in my community.
